Engaging Men to Prevent Sexual Violence Through Social Marketing

David S. Lee, Director of Prevention Services at the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault , lead a workshop at Roots of Change: Men, Sex and Justice , 2nd Biennial Statewide Conference on Sexual Violence Prevention and 34th National Conference on Men and Masculinity in Portland, Oregon on October 30, 2009.

The conference was sponsored by the Oregon Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force and the National Organization for Men Against Sexism (NOMAS).

This this workshop participants learned about how to use the planning and formative research to develop rape prevention programming.  The session explored approaches to engage men and potential frames of the issue.
