The 2018 National Sexual Assault Conference, Bold Moves: Ending Sexual Violence in One Generation, was held in Anaheim, CA, August 29-31 2018. This workshop was part of the Prevention track, co-sponsored by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault. Aapta Garg and Brian Heilman of Promundo, Elizabeth Miller of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh, and Brett Goldberg of The Bridges We Burn explore gender transformative programs for youth and share their work with high school age boys on initiatives that aim to foster new masculinities. The presenters share lessons learned from program implementation meant to help expand and reshape teenage boys’ understanding of what it means to be a man. Both school-based and community-based programs are highlighted.
