Policies for prevention: State by State Interactive Map
Trust for America’s Health released an interactive state-by-state injury prevention policy map to accompany their report titled The Facts Hurt. This map examines some injury prevention policies in states to reduce injuries in ten injury topics. Two of the topics are related to violence:
- Does the state allow people in dating relationships to get protection orders?
- Did the state receive an “A” grade in the teen dating violence laws analysis conducted by the Break the Cycle organization?
This report was developed with a committee of top injury prevention experts from the Safe States Alliance and the Society for the Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR) with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
How does your state rate? What other violence prevention policies should be included in future reports?
