Today is International Women’s Day

Empowering women isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s the smart thing to do.  When women succeed, nations are more safe, more secure, and more prosperous.

A day after President Obama signed the Violence Against Women Act, he released a statement about today’s International Women’s Day.  This is a great day to remember the importance of women’s leadership to make this a better world.  As we continue our work to prevent sexual violence and domestic violence, we are improving the lives of women and girls (and men and boys through that same work.)
