Uncommon connections: Sexual and domestic violence prevention and environmental justice

Amanda Green worked in the sexual and domestic violence prevention movement for many years before moving on to the Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI).  When she got to NWEI, she found that the work towards environmental justice was much more similar to the work to end sexual and domestic violence than she anticipated.  The work is, after all, fundamentally about changing behaviors. Moreover, she found that the environment justice movement offered valuable tools and resources that could be used to prevent sexual and domestic violence prevention.  Listen to Amanda’s story and learn about the uncommon connection between the two movements below.

1. I found a lot of connections between environmentalism and anti-sexual violence activism in my research with long time activists. The connections are not so uncommon. Thanks for sharing this story!
