‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ through a social justice lens

Lesson Plan Cover

In this podcast, social justice activist Eesha Pandit and Brandy Selover of the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence discuss a new lesson plan, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for Social Justice and how it’s implemented by the coalition’s Center for Healthy Teen Relationships. This is the second lesson plan utilizing The Hunger Games books as a primary prevention tool to change social norms. The first lesson plan, The Hunger Games Gender Empowerment Lesson Plan was discussed in a PreventConnect podcast last year. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire lesson plan aims to engage youth to talk about social justice and sexual violence by using pop culture strategies.
