Prevention Session 5: Demystifying Theory
Prevention sessions feature conversations about recent prevention-related happenings, prevention hot topics, and their implications. In this prevention session, Alexis Marbach of the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence discusses theory with PreventConnect and California Coalition Against Sexual Assault‘s Ashley Maier. While theory might not sound like the hottest of topics, it is becoming a word those working to prevent sexual and domestic violence hear frequently, especially given the increasing climate of accountability in the prevention arena. Accordingly, the two explore their thoughts about using theory to inform prevention work, with Alexis sharing a concrete example of the use of the theory of planned behavior in Rhode Island.
