Ignite Talk: Disciplined Too Young & Too Often

This Ignite Talk presented by Nubia Pena of the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault highlights the School-To-Prison Pipeline and how zero tolerance policies target youth of color, children with disabilities, children involved in the foster care system, and those from low socio-economic backgrounds – populations that are equally vulnerable when considering risk and protective factors for sexual violence perpetration and victimization. Rape Prevention Education (RPE) Grantees must be aware of current issues that increase a youth’s vulnerability to perpetration in order to create innovative and relevant ways of engaging with targeted youth.
