Culture-change for Prevention: Beyond the Field with Mujeres Poderosas Amorosas
This podcast is part of a recent PreventConnect web conference “Culture-change for Prevention: Advancing Prevention Within and Beyond the Sexual and Domestic Violence Field.” Genoveva Islas shares her work with Mujeres Poderosas Amorosas preventing intimate partner violence against Latina women and immigrants. Mujeres Poderosas Amorasas was created from identifying a need for intimate partner violence prevention from an active living and healthy eating community health coalition. This community-based and community-rooted network seeks to build resiliency within community members.
Slides and recording from the web conference are available here. MaiBao Yang and Dee Lee from CHAN-BOF also shared about culture-change strategies within the domestic violence field, and a podcast on their work is available here.
