In May 2023, the White House released the first ever US National Plan to End Gender Based Violence. In this historic plan, government officials identified prevention as the first of seven essential pillars necessary to address the social problem of gender-based violence.
Join PreventConnect, representatives from the federal government, and dedicated advocates for a special listening session to hear about the progress made since the National Plan’s inception and explore future actions to enhance the prevention of gender-based violence.
In 2021, PreventConnect hosted a listening session to inform the creation of the National Plan. Following a similar format, this session will offer attendees a chance to share insights about prevention and provide recommendations on future actions to advance prevention efforts on a national level.
OBJECTIVES
- Describe the key elements of the National Plan to End Gender-Based Violence.
- Identify resources available to advance prevention.
- Identify and inform how to use the plan to further gender-based violence prevention actions.
