Economic Support Strategies for Safe and Equitable Communities
Join PreventConnect for a web conference designed to deepen understanding of how economic justice, health equity, and violence prevention are interconnected.
Strengthening economic supports and security for women and families is an effective strategy to prevent not only sexual and intimate partner violence, but also suicide, child abuse, and neglect, and adverse childhood experiences. While there is evidence to support these connections, it can be difficult to clearly and succinctly explain how strengthening economic supports and security can lead to preventing violence.
In this web conference, national experts from ValorUS and the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV) will illustrate the connections between economic security and violence-free, equitable communities and offer real-world examples and recommendations for organizations hoping to explore economic supports in their prevention work.
OBJECTIVES
- Explain the connections between strengthening economic supports and preventing multiple forms of violence.
- Discuss opportunities to influence strengthening and expanding the scope of economic supports to prevent violence
